To support this vision, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Manager to join our Fleet Maintenance team. About the role The role of the Workshop Manager is critical in the delivery of the Fleet vision and of it's need to deliver a cultural behavioural change amongst its maintenance teams that sees them operate efficiently and cost-effectively. As Workshop Manager, you'll will play a pivotal role in the success of the Fleet function and will be responsible for the performance of the workshops, with specific accountability for delivering performance against all key Maintenance scorecard indicators, including, Safety, Legal, Cost and Stakeholder performance measures. Responsible for optimising the efficiency of Fleet Workshops to meet industry standard performance levels, you'll be accountable for the achievement of all targets and managing a team of circa 25 vehicle technicians with a budget of circa £2.1 million. You'll provide visible and effective leadership for the Fleet Workshop teams, provide coaching and support and lead the team through transformational change and championing Continuous Improvement. By building professional relationships, you'll effectively manage key stakeholders to include the local IR interface and work collaboratively with union colleagues to drive critical improvements in performance and efficiency. Attendance :Full time, 41 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexible hours. Location: To cover the South Coast and Isle of Wight (Poole, Trowbridge, Basingstoke and Newport/IOW) Fleet Management Service Centre. Flexibility and travel are required. About you An experienced performance manager with first line management experience in a similar environment, you'll have strong leadership skills and the ability to deliver results through people. You will have experience working with key stakeholders and driving change. Having relevant industry experience and knowledge of dispersed maintenance operations (or similar dispersed manufacturing, network, utility/ logistics/service organisations) you'll have a background in leading such teams through change and continuous improvement. You will have accountability to drive performance, the achievement of all agreed targets through the use of effective performance management techniques and provide visible and effective leadership for Fleet Workshops teams and support staff. Having excellent data analytical skills, you will also have a good level of excel experience as well as financial acumen along with the ability to influence, build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders., Knowledge of compliance requirements for vehicles and road transport legislation would be advantageous. A CPC, IOSH or Professional Motor Vehicle qualification or similar would be desirable. Assessment Due to operational requirements, the assessment centres will take place early January.
