Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
Full time, 37.5 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen for a 0.5 WTE Musculoskeletal specialist to join the Therapies team within Barts Health Trust. The post holders will be a qualified Physiotherapist, with at least 2 years experience within the MSK physiotherapy specialty. They should be registered with the HCPC, have completed at least two specialist musculoskeletal rotations, which would ideally include an Orthopaedic inpatient rotation. They should have excellent baseline knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy principles and have experience of treating a variety of peripheral and spinal patients. Evidence of involvement in project management and audit will be desirable.
The full time post holder will join the Barts Health Band 6 musculoskeletal rotations based at Whipps Cross Hospital and its community sites. The 0.5WTE will be based initially at Whipps Cross Hospital. They will have the opportunity to work alongside different specialties including, Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Community Pain clinics. They will have supervisory responsibility for a Band 5 physiotherapist and students, providing appraisals, teaching and clinical support with managing demanding caseloads. They will also have roles linked to the Band 7 line managers that will facilitate their managerial and leadership qualities, for example GP liaison, education and Musculoskeletal Audit champion. We have an excellent evidence based in-service training program covering each individual joint with theoretical knowledge, practical skills and clinical implementation. We also run a fantastic variety of external courses for which we have a number of free places allocated. The MSK Therapies team also has a strong Band 8 strategic and clinical leadership team, who support the MSK physiotherapy team to deliver the best possible patient care.
