The School has an excellent reputation for teaching and research in health and social care. Our academic members of staff (approx. 90) include nurses, allied health care professionals, social workers, psychologists and sociologists. The School is run over 2 campuses, based at Southend and Colchester. Academic staff are supported by a team of administrative staff based at both Colchester and Southend campuses. Duties of the Role The Senior Student Administrator is responsible to the School Office Manager for providing excellent customer service to students and visitors to the School and high quality professional support services to programme directors and other academic staff. They will work in accordance with the School's student services delivery model, and the School's principles, values and behaviours. They will be expected to demonstrate a wide range of knowledge and expertise across all student groups and to provide appropriate and helpful information, advice and guidance to students and visitors. They will be expected to take responsibility for initiatives or projects on behalf of the School Office Manager, provide administration services in relation to courses, modules, assessment and student records, support the work of the professional services team and academic staff as a whole. They will contribute to effective communication and engagement within a culture of strong partnership working with academic and professional staff. They will also contribute to a culture of excellence in service delivery, and identify potential improvement to support services. This is a permanent, part-time position where you will be based on Southend Campus. Skills and qualifications required In order to be successful you will have a minimum of five GCSEs at grade A-C (or equivalent). The Student Administrator should have a high level of administrative experience, excellent IT and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail. T hey will have the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritising effectively in order to meet deadlines and be highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be a team player with a willingness to be flexible and supportive to other staff within the School and University.
