Senior Quality Control Engineer Job Location: Chessington, United Kingdom Salary: Based on Experience Experience: Previous working experience at an established premium producer of motorcycles or cars. Gocycle is expanding our engineering team as we look to expand our product range in 2019 and we’re looking for an experienced Quality Control Engineer to manage and take responsibility for overall quality control. Ideally, you’ll have 5-10 years of engineering experience relating to design, production, and quality control. You’ll understand manufacturing processes and the various quality control issues that crop up with different processes. You’ll need to have experience working with safety critical products and appreciate the challenges that come with producing and selling a premium and high-tech consumer product. As a small team, you’ll need to be able to take on other projects as well such as contributing to the design, development and production of new components and subassemblies including testing. This role will suit a well-rounded engineer that enjoys two and four-wheel vehicles and electric propulsion. You’ll be a key team member within a small and dynamic engineering team helping us to scale our production and maintain high standards. This is your chance to join our mission and help to make Gocycle the best electric bicycle in the world Job Description: Primary Responsibilities Responsible for and managing the inspection and quality control of all components, subassemblies, and finish product. Managing our 3rd party inspection partner. Inspection of prototype and production samples. Responsible for all quality control (QC) procedures. Finding root causes of quality defects during production, assembly, as well as post sales both B2B and B2C. Solving root cause defects and implementing solutions through the design and development of improved inspection criteria, jigs and checking fixtures, or redesign of the part or production process. Involvement with testing and service in order to improved consistency of production and quality. Working with the engineering and production team to optimise production flow and output whilst ensuring consistent and high standards of quality control are met. Creation of 3D engineering models and drawings to best in industry standards as required using ProEngineer software. Designing production and QC jigs and fixtures to ensure zero defect quality control. Communicating with suppliers to ensure production schedule is maintained and quality checks are completed. Travel throughout the world as need to meet with suppliers as required. Secondary responsibilities Taking on responsibility for design and development of various new components and subassemblies as part of working with the overall production and engineering team. Responsible for total engineering - from concept, design, prototype, and production through to quality control of various sub-assemblies. Ordering and procurement of parts. Taking on new responsibilities as required from time to time. Usage of PC software and email to interact with company team members. Reporting to Managing Director.
