Full time / Part time post to Support Medical Oncology Services Start: March 2020 We are looking for an enthusiastic oncology fellow to work within the Department of Medical Oncology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This is a fixed term contract to cover for Service within our Medical Oncology Registrar Team. The successful individual will work within a team of medical & clinical oncology postgraduate trainees and a number of academic clinical fellows to support clinical service. There is on call commitment. This post is based within the Oncology Service at Imperial College Hospital NHS Trust (ICHT), predominantly on the Charing Cross Hospital site. ICHT has an international reputation for cancer treatment and research, being part one of a major national academic health science networks, and a leading provider of education for undergraduates and postgraduates. We have close links with Imperial College University and a work in partnership with the ICR. The Trust offers specialist care for almost all cancers (except paediatrics and sarcoma) and is the national lead for management of gestational trophoblastic tumours. We provide a regional service for malignant spinal cord compression co-located with neurosurgical services. We are a department of currently 12 clinical oncologists & 11 medical oncologists, with major opportunity for academic development and research. We provide external beam radiotherapy services including brachytherapy with state of the art modern technology and equipment. You will be required to undertake clinical service duties in support of breast, uro-oncology, and skin with opportunity for experience of the gestational trophoblastic cancer service, a unique educational opportunity. The fellow will participate in the registrar on call rota and rotational ward based rota to support inpatient AOS services, within a supportive multidisciplinary team. You will be encouraged to avail of the training & research opportunities in line with your professional developmental needs.
