Senior Brands Manager - Children's Entertainment

The opportunity

  • A Senior Brands Manager role has been created within the Content team of an independent Media company who produce several well-loved TV shows for children. There’s a mix of heritage characters and original new properties to work across. 
  • Joining a leading, independent, international media group and rights owner specialising in the creation, development and brand management of children’s and family intellectual property rights.
  • The group has expertise in publishing, licensing, television, digital and brand management.
  • This is an opportunity for an experienced Brand Manager with a strong passion for creativity and innovation to join an established company with a mix of content brands to work with.

The role

  • The Senior Brands Manager will join a team of 5 people reporting into the Director of Content, with the rest of the team across design, social media, and digital marketing. 
  • Building out the brand strategy and pushing current thinking forwards.
  • Developing new brand partnerships that drive brand love and ideally produce commercial returns.
  • Incorporating experiential opportunities for brand extension.
  • Create brand plans and execute brand strategies to drive value and growth, both in terms of awareness and commercial returns, across the Group’s key IP portfolio
  • Manage brand marketing budgets
  • Create and secure promotional partnerships, with revenue-generating ones taking priority
  • Identify new product categories and new opportunities for brand exploitation
  • Work closely with the digital, product & licensing teams to identify off-line opportunities
  • Create meaningful, and preferably revenue-generating, events that tap into and take advantage of the Experience Economy
  • Be a brand guardian

The person

  • An experienced Brand Manager / Senior Brand Manager with some knowledge of children’s entertainment.
  • Ideally exposure to brand extension through working alongside commercial licensing teams on brand extension for consumer products. An understanding of marketing consumer products featuring children’s characters would be an advantage.
  • An excellent knowledge of licensed brands, in particularly, in the children’s sector
  • An understanding of digital marketing and its relevance to overall marketing plans
  • 3-5 years in a related marketing environment
  • Ability to deliver strong, actionable and accountable brand plans
  • Creative approach to marketing
  • Ability to take on responsibility and manage projects effectively
  • Business planning skills including budgeting and forecasting
  • Pro-active and a team player
