Summary

Programme Officer
(Vocational Training Foundation Programme for Pharmacy Technicians)-1.5 WTE in total, regional model

Flexible Base Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen or Inverness (regional).

Agenda for Change Band 6 £30,401 - £38,046 pro rata per annum

Part time: up to 18.75 hours per week per post (up to March 2020 in the first instance, via secondment or fixed term)

Who we are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is an education and training body and a special health board within NHS Scotland. NES is responsible for developing and delivering education and training for the healthcare workforce in Scotland.

What you'll do
These posts will support delivery of the roll out of the new Vocational Training Foundation Programme for Pharmacy Technicians across Scotland supporting trainees and tutors from all pharmacy sectors, to ensure a quality standardised programme. The roles will also provide excellent career development opportunities.

What you'll bring
This is an exciting new initiative offering three secondment/fixed term opportunities to pharmacy technicians in the East, West and North regions. Significant experience in a relevant role and setting is required as well as a flexible approach to learning and problem solving, effective prioritisation and sound judgement. Developing effective relationships with key stakeholders will also be essential for the delivery of these posts. The part time nature of the posts will allow you to continue to develop your current skills in practice whilst further developing your knowledge and skills in an education and training environment, at both a regional and national level.

Experience and/or understanding of the external drivers as well as awareness of relevant NHS policies/priorities is desirable, as is experience of audit, evaluation or research.
