ABOUT US
Here at FutureLearn, our purpose is to transform access to education. We do that by partnering with over a quarter of the world’s top universities to support over 10 million learners across the globe to develop skills and achieve their personal and professional goals. We’re a leading social learning platform founded in December 2012 by The Open University and are now jointly owned by The Open University and The SEEK Group. We use design, technology and partnerships to create enjoyable, credible and flexible short online courses and microcredentials, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. In addition to top universities, we also partner with leading organisations such as Accenture, the British Council, CIPD, Raspberry Pi and Health Education England (HEE), as well as being involved in government-backed initiatives to address skills gaps such as The Institute of Coding and the National Centre for Computing Education.

ABOUT THE ROLEWe’re looking for a Production Coordinator to join FutureLearn Studio – a growing in-house delivery team within the Content and Partnerships division at FutureLearn with project management, content development, media production and learning design expertise.

FutureLearn Studio provides paid-for creative services and consultancy to FutureLearn’s customer organisations and university partners. Projects range in value from £5k-£2m in value. This could involve: the delivery of one-off workshops or short term consultancy; end-to-end production of a complete course, microcredential or degree program; or the management of FutureLearn’s involvement in multi-year government-funding education programmes.

We’re looking for an energetic Production Coordinator to support FutureLearn Studio, primarily during the pre-production phase of course development projects. As Production Coordinator, you will support Producers with day-to-day operations such as venue scouting and booking, equipment hire and asset management, risk assessments, sourcing and contracting content contributors, and preparing call sheets, transportation and shooting schedules. Under the supervision of the Head of Studio and Lead Media Producer, you will also support the recruitment, contracting, deployment and payment of third party suppliers.

Our ideal candidate will be a natural organiser with a solution-focused mindset. You will use your own initiative to spot gaps in FutureLearn’s capabilities and anticipate pressure on our capacity. You’ll be adept at planning ahead, pre-empting issues and eliminating blockers before they become a problem. To ensure our production unit scales up smoothly and sustainably, you’ll devise and refine FutureLearn Studio’s processes and workflows – including, but not exclusively, audio/video production – to maximise efficiency whilst maintaining quality. From time to time, you’ll also support Project Managers in the scoping of individual productions to help them understand requirements and secure the necessary personnel.

We’re looking for an organised individual who revels in keeping plates spinning and enabling others to do their very best work. In return, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a talented group of creative thinkers. This is an entry-level position where you will be given mentoring and regular opportunities to shadow and learn new skills on the job.

This role is based in Camden, London, UK. This is a permanent contract, and we are open to hearing from candidates seeking a job share or part-time employment (minimum 0.6 FTE).
