Suitably qualified and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologists will also be considered for this post on a Band 8a – 8b 12 month internal preceptorship pathway (0.7 WTE) if required

We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist to join our busy service for children, young people and their families/carers. We will consider initial appointment at 8a on a 12 month leadership development preceptorship.

The post is based within a small uni-disciplinary clinical psychology service at Whitegate Health Centre, Blackpool and is co-located with other children’s services (including CAMHS).

Applications are invited from Senior or Principal Clinical Psychologists, currently registered with the HCPC, who have substantive post-qualification clinical and leadership experience within the specialty. The post-holder will have extensive clinical knowledge, skills and experience in the field of child and adolescent clinical psychology, in particular: interventions for attachment disruption/developmental trauma, psychological impact of physical health issues and neurodevelopmental disorders. Development and consolidation of specialist areas of interest can be supported - a number of psychologists within the network have been supported to undertake further relevant therapies training (e.g. EMDR, VIG, DDP).

In addition to holding a clinical caseload, key outcomes of the post-holder’s role will relate to leadership work through liaison with key partner agencies, consultation, training, oversight of clinical psychology training placements within the team and supervision of qualified clinical psychologists (bands 7 – 8a). There will be opportunities to supervise and deliver service development/audit projects to ensure high quality services.

Support to develop and consolidate clinical and leadership skills will be provided by the locality Consultant Clinical Psychologist and there will be opportunities for professional / peer support from other Principal Clinical Psychologists across services. All clinical psychologists have an agreed Job Plan which protects their core clinical commitments and provides allocated time for other aspects of their employed roles.
