(Field-based, with frequent UK travel). Your new role As part of Wave 3 of the ISCF, the Manufacturing Made Smarter challenge programme will seek to inspire the UK manufacturing sector to adopt the technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution and increase productivity. The role holder will operate within the Manufacturing Made Smarter (MMS) challenge team, which is part of the ISCF Directorate. As an Innovation Lead, the role holder will be responsible for developing and implementing measures to support UK wealth creation in the area of digital manufacturing and associated technologies, including; Additive Manufacturing, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), AI and bid data, Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) and advanced communications systems. Working in a team of other Innovation Leads the role holder will have responsibility for leading one of the 4 Innovation Themes within this challenge programme: Smart connected factory, connected and versatile supply chain, design, make, test, along with adaptable, flexible manufacturing operations and skills What you'll need to succeed You will need a deep technical understanding of manufacturing processes and Industrial Digital Technologies. Also possessing a degree of commercial awareness, the candidate should be able to effectively manage competing priorities and a complex stakeholder environment. The role holder will need to make sense of multiple data sources, to establish underlying patterns and articulate a clear and compelling vision of what needs to be done. A good team player, willing to share knowledge with others and to learn from them. Able to operate independently at times and within a geographically dispersed team. This is a field-based role therefore you'll need to be able to travel across the UK frequently.
