An opportunity has arisen at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS trust for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is ready to further develop and consolidate their knowledge and skills within the Pelvic Health Speciality. You will carry a mixed caseload of pelvic floor dysfunction and obstetric outpatients (predominantly pelvic floor dysfunction) and, be actively involved in patient education classes and inpatient care.
This role provides a great opportunity to be responsible for the care of patients across the pelvic health speciality. Referrals are from both primary and secondary care. You will have the opportunity to treat patients from uro-gynaecology as well as urology, colorectal, psychosexual medicine and pelvic pain clinics for both men and women. Additionally you will have the opportunity to treat pregnancy related conditions and lead patient education classes. You will work closely with the MDT within Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS trust across all referring disciplines. There will be opportunities to work on the specialist colorectal Pelvic Floor Unit at St. Thomas' Hospital.
The Pelvic Health physiotherapy team works alongside the expert MSK Physiotherapy and MCATTS team's; working together with patient care, in-service training, research and service development. The service continues to grow and currently has a B8 Clinical Specialist, x2 B7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapists, Static Band 6, Rotational Band 6, Rotational Band 5 and a Static Band 4. There is a well-structured inpatient service for postnatal and antenatal care, as well as gynaecology benign and oncology care. The outpatient service is mixed across pelvic health and involves both outpatient clinics and patient information classes, exercise classes and hydrotherapy.
You will be currently working at Band 7 level or have a broad range of Band 6 experience (or equivalent) in Pelvic Health and Musculoskeletal physiotherapy. You will be responsible for assisting the Clinical Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist in the daily operational management of this speciality. You will be responsible for supervising and appraising Band 4, 5 and 6 staff.
