Job DescriptionA primary SEN school in Lambeth is recruiting a number of experienced healthcare assistants to work across key stage 1 and 2. They have full and part time opportunities available starting immediately. All posts will be working via the agency. The school caters for students aged 2-11 with an ECHP for PMLD, SLD, Autism and complex medical needs. They have a strong academic focus, however are equally keen to promote positive wellbeing and mindfulness. The selected applicants will have previous SEN experience, especially with PMLD, SLD and complex medical needs. You will be working in a class of 5-6 pupils providing 1:1 support. Children are grouped based on age, however there will be varying abilities, with some students being non-verbal. There is feeding and personal care duties involved, so you must have valid (in date) PEG feeding and manual handling training, we will need to sight all relevant certificates. Experience with PECs and Makaton would be an advantage. As well as supporting students academically, you will focus on well-being and social skills.
