Financial Controller - Significant M&A

The Story:

Finatal are currently supporting an exciting, private equity-backed healthcare business overseeing a phenomenal trajectory of growth through acquisition. Alongside undertaking a thrilling and fast paced mantra, the leadership team has adopted a set of values to form the foundations for short, medium- and long-term success alongside well respected private equity investors. As Financial Controller, you will be tasked with supporting an industry recognised CFO and CEO, providing financial leadership, advice and aiding the significant M&A activity taking place.

Job Description:

  • Providing regular commercial analysis, including performance, forecasts and detailed MI to influence senior decision making
  • Involvement in M&A activities, including full integration of acquired businesses
  • Building financial models to enact a variety of scenarios and to plan for continued significant change, including on acquisitions
  • Exposure to PE investors on internal reporting
  • Responsible for maintaining, updating, improving current management model
  • Responsible for producing timely and accurate management accounts
  • Reactive forecasting and budgeting in line with continued business growth
  • Responsibility for accuracy of group results and ensuring best in class financial controls throughout group
  • Providing analysis and commentary on the monthly results, including variance analysis which forms a key element of the monthly Board Pack.
  • Reporting directly to the CFO
  • Responsibility for timely financial reporting, financial controls and related systems.
  • Ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned by the CFO

The Successful Applicant:

  • Candidates must hold a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience in supporting M&A activities in an agile environment
  • Understanding of PE ownership and structure is a must
  • Corporate finance experience in practice will be highly advantageous
  • Expert excel user including in the creation of detailed financial models
  • Exposure to a multi-site business is highly advantageous
  • Must be able to operate in an agile, fast-paced and demanding environment
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and change management skills
  • Enthusiastic, dynamic, open minded personality
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of business
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong identification towards the growth of the company
