Job DescriptionSENIOR CLINICAL FELLOWS IN AMBULATORY AND REGIONAL ANAESTHESIA Employer: Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust Department: Anaesthetics, St Mary's & Charing Cross Hospitals Location: London Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is an Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) and the largest Trust in the country. Applications are invited for a 12-month fellowship training programme in regional anaesthesia rotating between St Mary's (ESRA Accredited) and Charing Cross Hospitals in 6-month placements. One fellowship post is available from August 2020 and August 2021. A separate 6-month fellowship post is also available from November 2020 based solely at Charing Cross Hospital. This fellowship programme is ideally suited to Specialist Registrars, with an interest in regional anaesthesia, approaching the end of their training, or an anaesthetist who has completed their training and is looking to round off their sub-specialty experience prior to securing a consultant post. In addition to clinical duties, which includes protected training lists, one day a week is dedicated to fellows undertaking activities that enhance their non-clinical skills such as education, research, quality improvement and publication preparation. This time can also be used to further clinical activity elsewhere in the Trust or at other hospitals. As a Senior Clinical Fellow, the post holder will take part in a 1 in 8 senior tier on-call rota alongside other clinical fellows and senior trainees at their respective clinical sites. Applicants are required to have completed the FRCA or equivalent qualification and have a minimum of 5 years' experience in anaesthesia and intensive care in a structured training programme. In addition to their protected training lists, fellows will be expected to be able to independently manage their own lists supervised by a consultant in a nearby theatre.
