We are currently looking for a dynamic Public Realm and Traffic Engineer to join our Development and Cities Space team. The role will involve taking a lead in the development of scheme designs within the business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of delivering designs to a high standard across the disciplines of Public Realm and Traffic Engineering. They will be able to develop designs from the initial concept and successfully complete the subsequent design stages through preliminary, detailed and construction design. This role will be based in Kings Cross but working across London, the South East and Nationally. Our office is located in Kings Cross, and a short walk from Kings Cross and St Pancras International stations. The team has a strong current workload and excellent presence within the marketplace. The Kings Cross team forms part of the wider national Transportation business. The overall team has a wide-ranging capability: from site feasibility and masterplanning, through to planning and then detailed design. The multi-disciplinary nature of the business also means that we are able to deliver project teams from disciplines wider than transportation to offer clients a true 'one stop shop'. About the Team: Our team is involved in a number of high profile projects with a variety of clients both in the UK and overseas, including Leicester City Council, Transport for London, Royal Borough of Greenwich, London Boroughs of Camden, Croydon and Harrow, Surrey County Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Grosvenor Estates, Segro, Homes England, Highways England, HS2 and Network Rail. Our current portfolio of works comprises a diverse mix of local, national and international projects. A selection of our current and recent projects include: * Camden West End Project * Plumstead Station Public Realm Improvement Project * London Bridge Station Redevelopment * Eltham High Street * Aberdeenshire cycle routes * Leicester City Council Framework * London Borough of Croydon Framework * Otterpool Masterplan * HS2 * Lower Thames Crossing * Silvertown Tunnel * Crossrail 1 Requirements: We are seeking to recruit a highly talented Traffic Engineer who has gained solid work experience on transport, land development and infrastructure projects and who possesses the following credentials: Minimum Academic Qualifications: * BTEC or higher in Engineering Desirable Academic Qualifications: * Chartered or working towards Chartership of a relevant professional body (ICE, CILT, TPP, CIHT etc) Essential Experience: * Appropriate previous experience of working in design and implementation of urban highway, transport and public realm schemes, including high street / town centre transformation projects, cycle schemes, bus priority projects, signalised junctions and road safety schemes * Development of scheme designs from concept through detailed design to construction design * Preparation of drawing suitable for public consultation * Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and AutoTrack * An understanding of the construction of 3D design of ground models * Experience of 3D design using AutoCAD Civils 3D (or MX) * Sign design using AutoSign or equivalent * Experience of drainage design * Production of full detailed design drawing packages * Preparation of Rough Order of Magnitude costs and detailed Bills of Quantities * Willingness to be part of a team and assist projects as and when necessary and work on own initiative * Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with clients and key stakeholders * Willingness to travel to projects across the UK when required * Working knowledge of CDM regulations * Mentoring and development of Graduates and Technicians Desirable Experience: * Site supervision * Design of temporary traffic management during construction * Appreciation of junction modelling and GIS packages * ProjectWise / BIM Standards * A strong commercial focus * Full driving licence Duties & Responsib
