One of the North West's leading broking houses is seeking to recruit a 'deal maker' for their corporate new business team in the region. You'll act as the team's market face with regards to relationships and negotiation with insurers and underwriters as well as the technical expert in competitive situations.

The role will suit a broking professional looking for more responsibility and autonomy, or an Account Handler seeking a bigger challenge and greater exposure to the market.

The Company

·A major name in the UK insurance broking market, the business is progressive and expanding through a mix of strong results and on-going investment.
·The existing NW team is respected and well regarded, servicing a range of commercial and corporate clients (as well as those within a number of key specialisms).
·This role is within the new business team and reports to senior regional management - it's a key hire created to facilitate ambitious la for 2019 and beyond.

The Role

·You'll act as a focal point for the new business team, working with the sales director and his team on all placement matters and anything related to the market - the role is a real mix of old fashioned broking and technical work related to identifying gaps in prospects existing insurance programmes.
·The team is typically targeting cases paying in excess of £5,000 commission/fee income with no upper limit, which will require you to liaise and negotiate with the market to secure the most favourable terms and wordings for your clients.
·As you'd expect, the role is key to the ongoing success of the team and this creates real visibility amongst peers, it's an opportunity for a driven individual to thrive.

You

·You'll be in a broking or handling role currently, with a strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance risks and a desire to increase your market facing responsibilities.
·You'll be a strong negotiator, comfortable holding your own in competitive commercial situations and able to articulate your thoughts and wishes clearly - relationship building and management are also key to how you position yourself.
·The office will continue to expand and it is essential the incoming individual is comfortable working with colleagues on projects within the team.
·ACII and/or similar risk management qualification are preferred.
