THE OPPORTUNITY

Here is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Compensation and Benefits manager to work collaboratively with an international reward team of fifteen in the development of DLA Piper's market leading total reward offering.

Reporting directly to the International Head of Reward, the role is responsible for working across the region to help with day to day reward operational issues, as well as creating alignment internationally and assisting with driving through the reward strategy to attract, retain and reward the best people.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with management and development of the compensation and benefits framework in line with the overall business strategy
Help to create a philosophy which positions the Reward team as a Community of Expertise internationally, acting as an enabling function for best-practice approaches, while leaving room for the nuances which occur at a local level
Engage with the business to ensure that Reward is seen as a visible partner which is relevant to the wider strategic agenda of the firm;
Plan for and fully project manage the regional annual salary and bonus review (full cycle), creating the required local project teams, documenting and adhering to deadlines and ensuring appropriate and effective administration, moderation, communication tools and correct payment systems are in place
Review and analysis of reward policies and processes across international in a move towards international alignment, such as approach to bonuses and KPIs
Development of an international benefits strategy, ensuring cost improvements and enabling international offices to attract, retain and reward the best people
Ensure the regional salary, bonus, pension and benefits are benchmarked using agreed credible data sources and analyse the findings on a regular basis
Undertake financial modelling and budgeting for the region
Porduce gender pay report and run equal pay reviews
Engaging within HR to ensure performance related remuneration systems and policies are effectively documented, communicated, planned for, managed and reported
Work with the HR Operations team to ensure that employee data relating to salary, bonus and grade is correctly recorded in the HR system for the region and audit on an annual basis at the time of the salary review;
Work with the team as a subject matter expert to to support the rollout of compensation and benefit related systems and future systems improvements
Assist with development of reward dashboards for different countries/region and service lines/practice groups
Work to embed the role framework in reward practices, acting in the project team to support the review of job titles across internation business services
Work on wider HR projects as agreed from time to time and which may be regional or international in scope.

ABOUT YOU

You will be an accomplished Compensation and Benefits manager with:

Practical experience of salary and bonus reviews, benchmarking, systems, recognition tools, performance management and benefits policies/administration
In depth experience of employee compensation and benefits policies, practices and programmes globally. Knowledge of relevant legislation around benefits schemes in the areas of responsibility
Experience of implementing international pension and benefit reviews including vendor selection, strategy creation, funding (e.g. multinational pooling) to ensure efficiencies and cost improvements
A strong background of working within benefits. You must be able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Knowledge of equal pay methodologies and their application
Experience of a partnership or professional services environment; experience and understanding of a complex, matrix organisation
Proven experience of acting as the primary point of contact for a defined population, with the ability to tailor approach and support to the size and needs of the location
Strong knowledge of the statutory requirements for remuneration and benefits including basic tax and employment law, with a pragmatic (yet consistent) approach and the ability to find commercial solutions that are in line with best practice, the firm's policies and also meet the needs of the business
Excellent Excel, Report Writing, PowerPoint skills and experience of HR systems and data manipulation
A good understanding of the HR business partner and specialist team model, with the ability to operate effectively as part of a larger, international HR team within a matrixed, partnership environment
The ability to communicate clearly, effectively and confidently both orally and in writing
A collaborative approach. You share by encouraging team work and building a strong team spirit
The initiative to identify new opportunities and challenge established ways of doing things
The ability to provide solutions to problems by applying specific knowledge and expertise as well as responding positively and credibly to overcome any barriers
