Chief Operating Officer x2
Location: Swindon or Wiltshire (Devizes)
Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) Clinical Commissioning Groups have made significant progress in working together more closely to improve the health and wellbeing of their people living in the region.
Together the CCGs have formed the BSW Commissioning Alliance and are in the process of moving towards a new joint senior executive team to serve across all three organisations. Our members come from 94 GP practices and we have a combined annual commissioning budget with £1.2bn to provide services for a total registered population of 941,000 who live in rural, semi-rural and urban areas with a diverse range of needs. Our staff are hardworking and passionate about making a positive difference and our three CCGs are high performing - all are currently rated as 'good' by NHS England in its Improvement and Assessment Framework.
As we move towards becoming an integrated care system, working together as an alliance will enable us to develop strategic commissioning across the wider system alongside effective, high quality service delivery at a local level. This includes integrated commissioning arrangements with our three local authorities in Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire with whom we have developed long-standing and collaborative partnerships.
Following the appointment of a number of executive positions, we are now actively seeking to recruit two new roles to join our Executive Team:
- Chief Operating Officer for Swindon CCG
- Chief Operating Officer for Wiltshire CCG
The two Chief Operating Officers will have principal responsibility for the development and delivery of the local operating plan including operational performance standards and improvement plans. They will lead the local commissioning team, and will build upon existing integrated working arrangements to ensure that all parts of the local (place-based) primary, secondary care and social care system are working together, developing integrated care alliances within their localities. These two postholders will be accountable for the health care commissioning for their local population and will support the delivery of both local and system-wide sustainability and transformation plans. They will also be responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with the primary care networks that are forming across our geography to support our shared ambition of delivering more integrated and joined-up care for people, reducing inequalities and improving outcomes for our population to amongst the best nationally.
These are challenging, exciting and varied roles that require exceptional leadership, collaborative working and interpersonal skills. These are exciting opportunities to lead and deliver transformational service change at a local level and contribute to strategic commissioning across the wider health and care system.
For an informal discussion, please contact Matt Simpson at our recruitment partners, Hunter Healthcare, on or [email protected] Upon applying, please indicate if you have a preference for either locality (Swindon or Wiltshire), however please be aware both roles will require some travel/working on sites across BSW.
