Job DescriptionVacancy Description Reception: * To be first point of contact for both telephone and face to face enquiries and take messages where appropriate * To ensure school security arrangements are always complied with, including the issue of the visitors' badges and signing of the visitors' book * To accept and sign for deliveries as appropriate * To provide hospitality for visitors of the school * To take responsibility for the dealing with complex enquiries Clerical: * To undertake typing and word processing and distribution of School information via the internet as required * To undertake filing, photocopying and reprographic work as required, including the basic maintenance of the photocopier * To be responsible for the sorting and distribution of incoming post and emails * To undertake administrative systems/procedures * To be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the manual and computerised pupil data records, including attendance details * To assist with the monitoring and maintenance of stock order supplies as necessary * To process daily meal figures for the School Kitchen * To track and reconcile weekly dinner figures * To maintain the MIS system, Arbour * Ensure the website is up to date will all relevant information Welfare: * To assist with the general welfare of pupils * To administer first aid to pupils as required, in keeping with the school's policy and order first aid supplies as necessary General: * To be sympathetic to the Catholic nature of the school * To present a positive and enthusiastic attitude to working as part of the Academy team * To be a positive influence on the climate and culture of the Trust and lead by example at all times * To provide and organise an efficient, professional and confidential secretarial and administrative service to the Headteacher including word processing of correspondence, reports, publications and other documents as required * To be responsible for ensuring a high standard of quality and accuracy in all documents produced for the Headteacher * Attend staff briefings/meetings where required * To participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager Requirements and prospects Desired skills * Excellent communication and IT skills (Microsoft Office) are essential * Applicants must be reliable, adaptable, and able to work effectively under pressure, with the ability to prioritise workloads, and enjoy working with children and adults Personal qualities * We are looking for someone with very good communciation skills especially when speaking to both parents and children * This role is perfect for someone who is very patient and understanding with young children Desired qualifications * GCSE, or equivalent, in maths and English at Grade 4(C) or above Future prospects * There is the possibility of a permanent position and continual training will be provided Things to consider * It is anticipated that this post will be in only one school * However we are a Multi Academy Trust that consists of two schoolsand, as such, it may be that you would work in either school, led by the same Executive Headteacher * You should be prepared for long periods of time on the computer and lots of face to face engagement
