We also offer specialist diagnostic, assessment and inpatient services for individuals with mental health needs and who also have a dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.About the job role• Comply with relevant Cygnet Health Care policy, procedure and standards, and local protocol, including attendance at training provided by the company, to ensure safe and effective functioning of the department and hospital as a whole.• Provide meals for patients, staff and visitors to the agreed quality standards of the department.• Provide the above-mentioned service within the budgeted departmental expenditure.• Supervise the work of staff employed in the department when acting/deputising for the Head Chef.• Be involved in marketing activities as required.Key duties• Prepare, cook and serve nutritional and balanced meals for all patients and staff within the hospital.• Provide meals to visitors to the hospital in accordance with local procedures.• Liaise with nursing colleagues to ensure the nutritional needs of all patients are met.• Seek professional dietetic advice is sought in respect of patients with special needs not met by the routine catering service of the hospital.• Carry out all activities related to the provision of meals in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations.• Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and Food Hygiene Regulations.• Comply with the requirements for checking and recording the critical control points in food preparation, in accordance with Cygnet Procedures, including keeping proper records of checks for subsequent inspection.• Handle, maintain and store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet Procedures.• Handle, maintain and store chemicals in accordance with Cygnet’s Procedures for Compliance with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations.Specific RequirementPlease note – this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 as you will be in contact with vulnerable adults.
