Fast forward your career by joining our haematology team as a band 6 charge nurse. Our department is full of opportunity for nurses who are looking for progression and aiming to develop new skills, get involved in quality improvement and collaborate with leading haematology teams. We are currently looking for nurses with haematolo-oncology experience and competencies in intravenous medicine and chemotherapy administration.
Our service, based at Hammersmith Hospital, offers you a unique and exciting opportunity to develop a career experiencing a wide range of malignant and non-malignant haematology, whilst working at the cutting edge of technological and therapeutic advancements in care.
You will be working in our leading specialist haematology centre, which runs one of the largest stem cell transplant (SCT) programmes in Europe. We have 56 beds across three dedicated wards and have expanded our day care to include a seven-day service which provides a nurse-led apheresis service, direct access to specialist triage and assessment facilities, and a dedicated day pain service for sickle cell patients. We have also developed a successful ambulatory care treatment pathway, which includes low-risk outpatient SCT treatment pathways.
We embrace a collaborative and patient focused approach to care and take pride in developing and promoting a skilled nursing workforce. By joining our pioneering team you can be part of an innovative haematopoietic stem cell transplant programme that now also includes treatment for multiple sclerosis patients. You will be able to develop new skills in the administration of stem cells, manage immunosuppression and neutropenic sepsis, symptom control, learn essential skills in chemotherapy.
