The role We are looking for an Assistant Resources/ Estates Manager to be responsible for managing and maintaining the Centre's resources, facilities and ICT equipment and software across our two Bristol sites. The successful candidate will act as Deputy to the Resource Manager as required, taking responsibility for site processes and being the main point of contact for Resource, Facilities, Safety issues and queries. You will be a key-holder for the premises, acting as Duty Manager during evening opening hours. You will take responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the site, including carrying out opening and close down procedures, and act as a health and safety lead. With responsibility for maintaining the Centre resources inventories, you will liaise with your team and other departments to ensure effective maintenance, replacement, management and control of the Centre's facilities and resources. You will ensure that all centre resources are in working order and appropriate for use, as well as managing the College booking system to issue and track all resources, including ICT equipment provided to learners and staff. You will fulfill the resource needs of staff and learners by setting up rooms and organising resources & furniture requirements for training events, meetings etc as well as carrying out minor repairs, as required. You will also support the ICT network for the centre, ensuring all laptops and desktops are appropriately configured for use, and maintain staff/students user accounts by working with our IT Services team, where appropriate. You will also liaise with representatives of relevant trades to ensure the implementation of systems for the monitoring and tracking of any agreed work, access to premises and work areas, completion of appropriate safety checks and risk assessments and logging of contractor's staff on site. Skills/Knowledge * Ability to develop, implement and maintain computerised and manual systems for administration and resource management purposes. * Ability to apply problem-solving skills * Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of equal opportunities issues as they affect employment and individuals/teams of staff. * Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally * Ability to read, understand, interpret and disseminate complex information. * The ability to work as an effective member of a team * The ability to organise and prioritise own workload, and work on own initiative * Ability to manage and maintain resources, equipment and ICT systems and hardware Experience/Qualifications/Training * Experience of the use of computerised systems, including Google suite and Microsoft/Apple operating systems * Background in live sound, studio recording and/or knowledge of musical equipment, maintenance and repair * Literacy and Numeracy qualifications at level 2 Work-Related Circumstances * Willingness to work flexibly within the conditions of service. * Must be prepared to travel between sites and elsewhere on Company business. * Willingness to undertake and lead appropriate staff development and training. * To promote equal opportunities across the business and areas of responsibility. * To work in accordance with agreed policies and procedures, including Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities. * Commitment to and evidence of continuing professional development * To hold or obtain within a specified timescale relevant health and safety, premises or ICT qualifications * To hold or obtain within a specified timescale an Emergency First Aid and Fire Warden qualification * Willingness and availability to work evening shifts and respond to queries as required in an "on call" capacity.
