Area Manager (Commercial) - M40 Corridor and the South This is a commercial role, set to identify and evolve business opportunities to increase profitability. As an Area Manager you will have a strong commercial awareness to coach, support and progress General Manager engagement by providing inspirational leadership on how to think and act to achieve and surpass their objectives whilst managing the financial risk implications. Typically you will work as part of a team and collaborate closely with other departments. Key responsibilities: * To develop relationships with General Managers to ensure everyone is working to the same goals and targets. * To show evidence of coaching, supporting and developing teams through the performance management framework. * To oversee staff to ensure deadlines are met. * To time manage and meet deadlines on projects. * To demonstrate tangible commercial results. * To develop strategic plans to encourage business growth to interpret results against targets. * To identify and evolve business opportunities to increase profitability. * To analyse and present key data to the Head of Commercial and work to a Measured Performance Management framework system with General Managers in order to set personal objectives for appraisal scoring. * To assess risk and make recommendations based on analysis of all factors affecting a business situation. * To manage Joining fees, Cost per head and Member blend against targets. * To help develop and grow Membership head count and Direct Debit by exploring new avenues. * To have a full understanding of account management profit and loss. * To understand the commercial management of FIT in 30, the inhouse taught classes. * To have extensive understanding of the industry to grow the Personal training revenue. This includes increasing the Direct Debit income through 1-2-1 and group PT. * To have a good understanding of the industry and current market, keeping your knowledge constantly updated. * To have good communication skills for an all important aspect of the role in developing relationships with staff by way of frequent visits and regular conference calls. * To develop relationships with 3rd parties and external points of contact to increase revenue. * To be organised and manage your time effectively.
