That is why we are delighted to be offering an exciting Area Cleaning Manager role based in Glasgow covering various sites across Glasgow and Edinburgh. Our company is growing quickly, and that's where you come in! Duties will include * As an Area Manager day to day you will be assisting to staff the units with cleaning operatives and supervisors, oversee budgets * Effectively, professionally and courteously liaise with the client on a regular basis * To act as Line Manager to all site employees, incorporating resourcing, training, personal development and HR procedures * Meet with the onsite clients and make sure the operation runs smoothly including rotas, staffing levels, recruitment and HR issues * To provide support to the supervisors and employees, ensuring that every site is managed with operational quality and financial effectiveness including cover for sickness, absence and holidays * Manage day-to-day procedures regarding inspections and quality control * Conducting audits and ordering equipment and supplies * You will also be responsible for the input of wages weekly * On sites, you will manage the general cleaning, this is a hands-on role so part of your day may need to be spent cleaning/ training staff * Promote and ensure safe working practices, implementation and compliance to Health and Safety * You will be travelling around the sites and be accountable for your portfolio. * Ensure all necessary site specific risk information, rules and arrangements are imparted to all employees * Ensure employees are informed in all matters including any changes relating to Health and Safety, Environmental issues and company policy and procedures * To liaise with the H&S manager in all matters affecting health and safety * Monitor stock levels and distribution, whilst ensuring all site equipment is functional and as required at each site The successful candidate * Be driven by excellence and attention to detail; energetic with superb communication skills; and demonstrate confidence with a 'can do' attitude * Essentially have experience as an Area Cleaning Manager, preferable in contract retail cleaning * A background of managing up to 100 cleaning operatives * You will have strong financial acumen and a commercial outlook, be used to providing exceptional service and be ready to adapt to customer's changing requirements * As an area manager, you will need exceptional people management skills to be able to lead, motivate and develop your teams * Due to the volume of sites and direct reports you will need to be organised, and have excellent time management skills coupled with the ability to converse at all levels * Ideally you will have a basic knowledge of employment law with some background in Employee Relations casework * You will be used to carrying out performance and quality audits, producing regular reports and be up to date with current H & S legislation and completing payroll * We are looking for a good working knowledge of MS office as this will be used daily as well as experience in documenting audit details directly online * You will be used to meeting and ideally exceeding set SLA's and used to managing strict KPI's and audits Additional Information The role is full time, working Monday - Friday, candidates must be flexible as work schedule must be adapted to suit the needs of the business.
