Job DescriptionJob role: * Provide regular feedback about client's rehabilitation programmes to key workers * Assist in teaching and supporting clients in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, by following their individual care plans * Develop a spirit of friendship with clients, maintaining unconditional positive regard * Assist key worker by way of regular discussion, to develop clients' weekly activity schedules and assist in maintaining them * Maintain an effective time management regime * Assist key workers to research the environment in order to identify suitable resources to support client life-career development * Facilitate and enable clients to build a fulfilling life * Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients * Establish a comfortable, homely environment for clients * Work within the statutory regulations and conditions relating to residential homes * Respect the rights, privacy and dignity of all clients with whom you work * Assist clients to maintain and develop external relationships * Adhere to prOKare policies and procedures * Complete a full induction programme, the care certificate and attend monthly education sessions which form part of the contracted hours * Work flexibly, as per rota to suit demands in the home * Attend any meetings and training sessions Requirements and prospects Desired skills The successful candidate will need: * Ability to recognise poor practice * Ability to recognise and report hazards * Ability to show empathy * Accurate record keeping * Ability to work as a team * Ability to work independently * Excellent communication skills Personal qualities The successful candidate will need: * Reliable and loyal * Committed * Must have a caring nature, be patient and understanding * Professional, with a positive outlook and sunny disposition * Smart and professional appearance Desired qualifications To apply for this position, you will need: * GCSE A*-C/9-4 in English and maths and ICT OR the ability to achieve Level 1 Functional Skills in these subjects Future prospects Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there will be the opportunity for full time employment with the organisation.
